Zyprexa Lawsuit News
"Wall Street Journal gets access to legal briefs "
January 26, 2004
Previously sealed briefs were exposed after the Wall Street Journal filed a motion to the court to have access to them. Two smaller, generic drug companies that believe Eli Lilly & Co. used a flawed clinical study in order to get the patent for Zyprexa sales, as well as failing to inform the patent officer of essential facts filed the briefs. Filed by Ivax Corp. and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Ivax wrote in its brief that, "Lilly was desperate to find some unexpected property of olanzapine (Zyprexa) to overcome the inevitable." Since the 1996 introduction of Zyprexa to the market, more than 14 million Zyprexa prescriptions worldwide have been made.
